About Us
365 Challenge started in 2016 when a group of friends agreed to start recording their runs, swims and workouts and to set an annual target. It started as an excel sheet that got emailed around, and a Whatsapp group to provide support and encouragement. One thing led to another and the group grew organically, bringing in an extended group of friends and family members who all enjoyed being part of a community that was something a bit different. The group has a wide range of ages and abilities from hardcore cyclists and runners, to occasional joggers and dog walkers. We have never been only about the miles travelled - it's also about the personal journey and building a supportive community.
How can I join in?

How to Play
The core principle is to accumulate points through physical activities, with a focus on both individual and group goals. Here's a breakdown of how it works:
- This year's theme is "United" - brining people together for shared experiences.
- 365 United is a year-long challenge. The game runs from January 1st to December 31st 2025.
- The primary goal is to reach a personal target of 365 points over the year.
- Points are earned through a combination of active days, monthly events, and bonus activities.
- Activities are logged through Strava, which automatically syncs with the 365 Challenge platform.
Total Score = Active Days + Monthly Events + Bonus Activities
Active Days
You earn 2 points for each "Active Day". There is a maximum of 12 active days per month that will count toward your goal. An "Active Day" is defined as completing one of the following:
- 3km run
- 4km walk
- 7km cycle
- 300m swim
- 20-minute workout
- 30-minute low-impact workout (yoga and pilates)
- 60-minute activity of any other type (e.g. canoeing, football, golf, skateboarding, etc.)
Monthly Events
Each month features a themed event, worth 20 points upon completion. These will be visible at the start of each month.
Bonus Events
There are a variety of bonus activities that are worth between 5 and 10 points each. These can be completed at any time throughout the year, but each bonus can only be claimed once per year. Some bonus activities include:
- 12km hike
- Climbing a hill or mountain
- Water sports
- Ice skating and Snow Sports
- Outdoor swimming
- Logging 12 different types of activities
- An organised event
- Achieving 30, 60, 90 day streaks
If the bonus activity has the word "united" in its hashtag, it must be completed with a member of the 365 group.
Additional Information
- While distances are recorded and celebrated, the overall winner is determined by the highest number of points, not distances.
- The challenge is designed to be more straightforward than previous years - we've taken a back to basics approach.
- The 365 Challenge Shop will be back this year.
- You can set up your own groups and invite others to join by generating referral codes.
- You can be a member of as many groups as you like.
